Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan is a hack and slash game developed by PlatinumGames and published by Activision, released in 2016 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Windows, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. The game is inspired by IDW Publishing's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic book series. Set in a dystopian Manhattan, players control the four Ninja Turtles - Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael - as they battle against various villains, including Bebop, Rocksteady, and General Krang, to save New York City from the Foot Clan. The gameplay features a cel-shaded art style and allows players to switch between the turtles at will, utilizing their unique ninjutsu styles and ultimate abilities. The game includes parkour and traversal mechanics, such as gliding and wall runs, and a leveling system where players can upgrade abilities using Battle Points. The game supports four-player online cooperative multiplayer and features random enemy encounters and boss battles. Although the game received mixed reviews, it was praised for its fun traversal mechanics and cooperative gameplay. However, it was removed from digital storefronts just eight months after its release. Despite this, it remains a notable title in the TMNT franchise for its unique gameplay elements and faithful adaptation of the comic series.
