SRS: Street Racing Syndicate is an open-world racing video game developed by Eutechnyx and published by Namco Hometek, released on August 31, 2004, for the PlayStation 2, GameCube, Xbox, and Windows. A separate version was also released for the Game Boy Advance in 2005. The game is set in the underground import racing scene, where players aim to gain respect and affection from various women in the city by winning respect challenges and races. The game features 50 licensed cars from manufacturers like Nissan, Toyota, and Volkswagen, which can be customized with licensed tuning parts. Players can race through the streets of Los Angeles, Miami, and Philadelphia, both during the day and at night, and participate in various race modes including Quick Race, Checkpoint Run, and Ironman races. The game also includes six multiplayer modes and a car damage model that affects performance. While it received mixed reviews at the time of its release, it was praised for its realistic street racing experience and extensive car customization options. However, it did not achieve the same level of critical acclaim as its competitor, Need for Speed: Underground 2. Despite this, it remains a notable title in the racing genre for its unique blend of racing and social interactions.
