Released on March 7, 2017, for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, it is the tenth installment in the Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon franchise and the first to feature an open-world environment. The game is set in Bolivia, where the Santa Blanca drug cartel has transformed the country into a perilous narco-state, leading to lawlessness, fear, and rampant violence. Players control members of the Delta Company, First Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group, known as 'Ghosts,' an elite special operations unit of the United States Army. The gameplay involves tactical cover-based shooting, exploration of a vast open world with diverse environments such as mountains, forests, deserts, and salt flats, and the use of drones and other equipment to complete missions.
